Fringe turf - What does it resemble a first cut, a second cut, or even a rough?

Tee-line turf (tee box turf) - Do they offer a tee box type grass that will accept a tee, as well as stand up to continuous abuse from a chipping iron?

Will their putting greens except a chip, and from what distance?

Is it possible to get a true ball action on this green (chipping, ball role...)?

Do they have company certified installers in your area?

What is the warranty on your turf products?

Understanding Product Specification:

There are several different ways that manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers are promoting their products. Here’s a brief description to give you a better understanding of what you're going to see when asking them about their products.

Nylon or Polypropylene (poly comes in straight or pre-bent) is the two most common types of yarn used to manufacture putting greens. These will come in several different:

Pile Heights

Denier and Micron (which is the thickness of the actual blade. ( Example --- 8,900 denier material with 114 micron Ultra-blade)

Total Weight (ounces per square yard)

Putting Green Stemp:

8-10, 10-12, or 12-15 (The higher the stemp meter number, the faster the green...)

$10.00 - $14.00 per square foot (very little detail and very little extras)
